We think we should be righteous within ourselves and we butt our heads against a wall wondering why we can’t live sinlessly in sinful flesh.The Lord does everything He can to help us see that we are not righteous within ourselves. What was once good is now considered evil; and what was once evil is being celebrated as good. This verse is sometimes used by those who would insist that our salvation requires "works" either to obtain or to maintain the "new birth." Even a casual reading of the New Testament does not support that view (John 5:24; 6:37; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 4:24; etc.).It never ceases to amaze me how the Devil will twist and corrupt the simplicity of the Grace of God. Literally insulting His Gracious gift of salvation. Jesus paid it all, it was enough to save us. Salvation is a free gift to all "whoeverso will believe." Here is the pattern: Eventually worship (music and that religious feeling) is considered almost on a par with Scripture, then equal to Scripture, and eventually superior to it.* The Scriptures become subservient to the music and are used more as transitions between songs than holy word to be expounded. Biblical sermons have given way to self-help lectures or emotionally charged sermons with lots of illustrations—replacing the previous Psalm 1 mentality. The idea of worshiping God through deep Bible study and meditation in the Word is unknown; worship now means music and feelings.

In fact, if you substitute the word “feelings” wherever you see the word “faith” in those older Bible versions, it will become clear to you what motivates and guides the average “Christian” today – point being: most of us are not following the Living Word of God by faith, we’re simply following our feelings and calling it “faith.”

precedent, nor precept for remembrance of the day of Christ's birth as a day of special religious celebration. This is not to say that we shouldn't remember Christ's birth and its significance, but for religious commemorations or celebrations, we must have Biblical command or precedent!

The fact of the matter is this -- the early church did not celebrate Christ's birth, but such celebration only came into the church with the "Christianization" of pagan rites as Catholicism was made the state religion by Constantine in the fourth century A.D. Since the Word of God does not support the tradition of Christmas, a Christian's conscience ought not and must not be bound.

This is a tragic mistake because multitudes are there already, and multitudes living today will soon be there. It is good to preach the love of God, but God also commands us:

"The Word and the Rain"

I'm excited! and want to encourage you!

God is doing a great work in these last days and we get to be a part of it. God saved a kid at my work this week. He's been working with myself and another believer for about a year. We have always been speaking the Word to him and speaking the message of the cross and praying for him. It seemed by outward appearance like he just wasn't getting it and having lots of problems in the way of his life until... it happened! God opened the eyes of his understanding by the Power of the Holy Spirit and he experienced the work of God's washing and regeneration. He wanted to know what he had to do to be saved so we pointed to Rom. 10:9-10 and told him to confess his sin, repentance included, he did then we prayed with him, he got caught up in the reality of it all and had to leave for a moment to himself. Salvation is of God and it is pretty cool seeing the Lord move in His time. I saw in it a great revelation from the Lord in this devotional "The Rain and the Word" how like the rain waters the earth so does the Word of God in the hearts of men, our new brother Adam being a perfect example of this principle of planting, watering and then the fruit of the seed bring forth the bud. It always confirms how important and extremely vital it is for us as true believers to witness to the lost. For how will they hear unless someone tells them and how can they believe and be saved with out the Word to water them. There is a drought in the land for Living Water, the WORD of God must rain upon the people to bring them salvation. Our nation is dying and the very thing that will bring life to the people is kept hidden from them in the hearts of those that know the truth and should be sowing God's Word. We must water them, and wash them with the Gospel so they may be saved. May the faithful to God stay the course, be bold, fear not and be the witness. Remember our labor is not in vain, prove your love, tell them the truth.

Poulsbo Viking Fest.

Last weekend we adventured to the little town of Poulsbo WA. Yearly they put on their community event and have for 42 years. We gathered at my place at 8:00 AM loaded the Lords van and headed out. Stopped and fueled got ice and hit the road! Lisa brought food and drink we fellowshipped and had our morning coffee, the time was great. We made downtown Poulsbo in an hour and 30 min. with one pit stop added. We found a place to park and prayed up. The Spirit of the Lord was present as we presented our hearts to Him and prayed He would use us to reach the lost.

"Salvation"

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
What does it mean to “believe in Him”? To trust and know that He is able and desires to save you? In a nut shell that works, but it goes deeper. It is neither more complicated nor simpler, it is a matter of knowing what you believe in Him for.
